Joseph L Palmer = Wilson - Joseph L born 1799 Occupation Gentleman/Landed proprietor of independent means. Married Sarah Wilson 1808. Sarah’s grandmother was Mademoiselle De Capo, daughter of a distinguished French family and said to be a great beauty. She married into the Montgomery family which at that time was possessed of immense wealth, but lost all in the French Revolution. Joseph and Sarah had 20 children. The second born and eldest son was Thomas Montgomery.
Thomas St Palmer = Lodge - Thomas St born about 1760 Derreen. Occupation Gentleman or referenced as being of the Landed Gentry. Married Mary Anne Lodge about 1787. Thomas St and Mary Anne were cousins being both children of the two Lodge sisters Frances and Elizabeth. This made the sisters mothers-in-law to each other’s child, to whom they were already aunts. It is believed that they had 21 children including Joseph Lodge.
