Joseph Mansergh Palmer - Georgina Hartford

 

Thomas Palmer of Durrow = Ellis - .    Thomas born 2 Dec 1823 at “Brooklawn”Ireland. Occupation draper Married Charlotte Ellis 1849 had 9 children eldest Joseph Mansergh.

 

Joseph L Palmer = Wilson - Joseph L born 1799 Occupation Gentleman/Landed proprietor of independent means. Married Sarah Wilson 1808. Sarah’s grandmother was Mademoiselle De Capo, daughter of a distinguished French family and said to be a great beauty. She married into the Montgomery family which at that time was possessed of immense wealth, but lost all in the French Revolution. Joseph and Sarah had 20 children. The second born and eldest son was Thomas Montgomery.

 

Thomas St Palmer = Lodge - Thomas St born about 1760 Derreen. Occupation Gentleman or referenced as being of the Landed Gentry. Married Mary Anne Lodge about 1787. Thomas St and Mary Anne were cousins being both children of the two Lodge sisters Frances and Elizabeth. This made the sisters mothers-in-law to each other’s child, to whom they were already aunts. It is believed that they had 21 children including Joseph Lodge.


 

Paul Palmer = F. Lodge - .     Paul born about 1730. Died Derreen 1794. Occupation Gentleman. Married 12 May 1754 to Frances Lodge. The history of the Lodge and Palmer families are linked from brothers of both families arriving in Ireland with the Cromwell army in 1649. Lodge ancestor Sir Thomas Lodge was made Lord Mayor of London in 1562. Paul and Frances third son was Thomas St

 

Thomas Palmer = Eleanor Fletcher - Thomas born about 1705 Ireland. Died 1771 Ireland. Known as Thomas Palmer of Ballyguage. Married about 1729 to Eleanor Fletcher who brings a long line of ancestry to the family.They had 8 children, the eldest was Paul
