Lieutenant R.L.Palmer
Lieutenant R. L. Palmer, Royal Horse Artillery, who has been mentioned in despatches, is a son of Surgeon Joseph Mansergh Palmer J.P., The Infirmary, Armagh. He has served 12 years in the Royal Artillery, and has spent some years in India.
He went to France from the Curragh with the 3rd Cavalry Brigade, under General Gough, early in August. He is a well known athlete in the Army, is an accomplished swordsman and horseman, and has sported silk on many occasions.
Surgeon Palmer's sons in the Navy are Commander Alexander R. Palmer in charge of the submarine depot at Harwich; Lieutenant-Commander Edwin M. Palmer and Lieutenant Irving Palmer.
