Boy Knocked Down by Car.
Through running across the road from the back of a motor-car, Maurice Longman (9) whose home is at 2. Waterworks Terrace, Havant, was knocked down by a light car yesterday week.
The boy had left home to go to the Roman Catholic School on the opposite side of West Street, and directly a motor-car had passed him in the direction of Portsmouth he ran across the road in the course of another car proceeding towards the Cross, and was run down.
The motorist, Mr Edwin Mansergh Palmer of Portsmouth, had no chance of averting the accident, which resulted in the boy having a fractured arm and a cut over the left eye, in addition to general bruises. His injuries were attended to by Dr. Burford Norman, after which he was taken to the home of his aunt.
