Mr. W.B. Highet, F.R.C.S.
Described recently by "The Lancet" as "one of the most promising men of his generation," Lieutenant William Bremner Highet, Wellington, and late of Dunedin, was among those lost in the sinking of the liner Ceramic. Mr Highet,who was 32,graduated M.B. Ch.B., of the Otago University in 1934, and was elected F.R.C.S. in 1938. When preparing for his profession, Mr. Highet won junior, senior, and university national scholarships, and his first medical appointment was as a house surgeon at Dunedin Hospital.
