Travels to discover the source of the Nile. (James Bruce) -
40 plates - Published by G.G.J. & J.Robinson - published in 5 volumes. The plates are dated 1789; only those underlined have the inscription 'Heath Sc' but it seems likely that the uninscribed plates were also engraved either by him, or in his atelier. The pagination of the engravings appears somewhat erractic, and to vary from edition to edition: it has been omitted therefore. For further engravings by James Heath to this work, see the 1804 edition.

The first edition was published in two volumes in 1790/1. James Heath received 4 guineas from Cadell in January 1792 for repairing this plate. -The Riot in Broad Street, 1780' - plate size 42 x 59cm.
Wheatley's painting was destroyed in a fire at James Heath's house in Lisle St in 1789. (Edward's Anedotes) but the copperplate was saved. Boydell had paid Wheatley £200 for its use. In 1802, this print was still being sold by Boydells at 1 guinea.

This day is published, Ornamented with a beautiful Frontispiece, Number 1. of Mr.Chamber's Cyclopedia; or Universal Dictionary of Arts and Sciences: with the Supplement and Modern Improvements, Incorporated in one Alphabet, by Abraham Rees, D.D.F.R.S. in Four Volumes, Illustrated with a great Number of Copper Plates.

Conditions -
I. The Work makes Four Large Volumes in Folio, handsomely printed with a New Letter on a Fine Demy Paper; and may be had, Complete, or in the following Manner.
II. Three Sheets delivered every Week, stitched in Blue Paper, Price Sixpence
III. In the Course of the Work will be given, gratis, One Hundred and Fifty Copper-Plates, elegantly engraved.
IV. Number 1. is now published, with which is given an elegant Frontispiece, designed by Stothard, and engraved by Heath
V. The subsequent Numbers will be regularly published every Week, till the Work is completed; or Subscriptioners may be accommodated with as many Numbers, Weekly, as may be agreeable or convenient.
