Consecration of the English Church at Athens
(from our Correspondent)
Athens, April 10 - The consecration of the English Protestant Church, by the Bishop of Gibraltar, who arrived here on the 7th instant, from Malta, in her Majesty's steamer Devastation, took place yesterday, Palm Sunday, in the presence of a crowded congregation, consisting of all the English residents, the officers of the men-of-war, and travellers; besides a numerous concourse of most respectable Greeks, the size of the church preventing many from gaining admittance.
I cannot speak in terms of too high praise of the respect shown by the Greeks of all classes to this interesting ceremony, and to the forms of our religious worship, the doors of the church being thrown open indiscriminately to all who chose to enter, and I trust that when it becomes generally known, that the service of the Church of England is performed at Athens as openly and as quietly as in any town of Great Britain, it will have the effect of attracting the attention of our most respectable classes at home to the fact, that religious toleration is a very certain indication of the high mental qualities of a people, and that those who possess and practice it are well worthy that others should take an active interest in their political and moral welfare. - - - -
Among the congregation were her Royal Highness the Duchess of Oldenburg and suite, her Majesty's Minister Plenipotentiary and Lady Lyons, Mr.Griffin, Secretary of Legation; the Dutch and Swedish Ministers and families; General Sir Richard Church; - - -Mr.Sergeant Heath and family, and all the English and American residents. - - -

From Charles Heath to J.B.Bacon (?)
My dear Sir,
All the Plates for the "B.Beauty" and the Keepsake will be finished by tomorrow evening - that is if I receive Mr.Brain's Plate - there are the following Plates for the Keepsake - let me know whether you agree with me that it will be better to put the writing in faint to all these Plates and to the Book of Beauty. Print 400 or 450 and then take it out for the Proofs which will take off all hurry and trouble and give the Prints time to dry instead of binding them up wet.
Yours truly,
C.Heath.
Let me know the last day you think they ought to be with Westley and Co.

Two Days since I had the pleasure of sending you the Proofs of the three Annuals which I hope you approved. By some unfortunate accident the Letter intended to be sent with them was left behind. Which I only discovered this morning, having been the last three days from Morning to Evening as a Juror in a cause in the "Common Pleas."
I hope my dear Sir that you and all your Family are quite well. I am going to Paris next Thursday for about a fortnight to arrange another work if possible but not on the same subject.
With best respects and best wishes believe me Dear Sir,
Yours most truly obliged.

My dear Sir,
I have only just time to save the post to tell you that I have this moment left Mr.Cutner who states that he is in immediate want of the other plates of the 'Winter in Paris' to make up the 100 sets as he has sold all but 50 of the 500 here, it is important to send them by the shortest possible route.
He has no doubt about selling all the 'Summer in Paris.'
Yours very truly
