Separate Print - Engraved by James Heath after Benjamin West R.A. The print was exhibited at the Royal Academy together with an outline key to the subjects (43 x 61cm) in 1811. This was a joint partnership, taking nearly 6 years to complete, but which probably netted a profit of about 3,000 guineas for each artist.

General Evening Post

London - Imperial Parliament. - House of Lords - Wednesday February 20.
The Lord Chencellor in the case of Taunton's Divorce Bill, suggested the propriety of introducing the clause according to the Standing Order of the House; which was agreed to. The further consideration was deferred till Friday se'nnight.

In the writ of error case, from the Court of King's Bench, Maddock v Burne and others, Mr.Heath appeared for the defendants; and there being no Counsel for the plaintiff, the Lord Chancellor confirmed the judgment of the Court of King's Bench, with £150 costs.

Mr.West's picture of the Death of Nelson -The engraving form the above picture by James Heath, Historical Engraver to his Majesty, and to His Royal Highness the Prince Regent,is completed and will be ready for delivery to the Subscribers after the 1st day of May next eith at Mr.West's, 14 Newman Street, or at Mr.Heath's 15 Russell Place, Fitzroy Square, agreeable to the date and place of their respective subscriptions.

The subscriptions will continue to be received for the above Print at the original price of three guineas at Mr.West's and Mr.Heath's until the 1st day of May next.

Mr.West's Picture
The Directors of the British Institute ]1811] having purchased for 3,000 guineas Mr.West's Picture of our Saviour Healing the Sick in the Temple propose to publish by subscription a print of it to be engraved in the line manner by Charles Heath Esq., of the dimensions of 28½" by 18½." The price to subscribers to be 5 guineas each (to be ordered from the British Gallery - half sub. paid. Valentine Green A.R.A. Keeper.

Benjamin West, President of the Royal Academy to Sir Thomas Bernard, a Governor of the British Institute.

Before I had finished the picture of Our Saviour receiving the Blind and Lame in the Temple to heal them, I spoke to Mr.Charles Heath, the son of Mr.James Heath, to engrave a plate in the stroke manner from it, on my own account, of the same size as Wolfe and Nelson for which I was to give him fifteen hundred guineas. 

My motives for making choice of this engraver were from a conviction of his superiority in drawing the human figure, as well as his taste in cutting the copper with firmness and precision which are the requisites for an able engraver in this department of art. 

These essential professional powers in him, united to the energies of a mature age and ambition, all of which, under the guidance of my long experience in what constitutes excellence, I had flattered myself with these powers to give to the world a print as unrivalled as those of Wolfe and La Hogue arey by Woollett. 

Such was the interest I then took, as I do now, in having the composition, characters, and effect maintained in a print from that picture to be given to the civilised world; and as the Governors and Directors of the British Institution have given to the picture their sanction of its merits, I am the more desirous it character should be supported in a print done under their patronage.

I therefore do not know of any engraver more capable of that than Mr.Charles Heath. I hope yourself and the other Governers, as well as the Directors of the British Institute, will view this anxiety in me to have the print engraved with a superiority as my apology for writing this letter on the subject.

We observe that a fine portrait of the late Right Honourable Robert Blair of Avonton, Lord President of the College of Justice, to be engraved by the celebrated Mr. James Heath of London, is about to be published - see advertisement.

Portrait of the late Right Hon. Robert Blair.

There will be published, as soon as can be executed, a Portrait of the late Right Hon. Robert Blair of Avonton, Lord President of the College of Justice, to be engraved in lines, by the celebrated Mr.James Heath of London, in his best and most finished style, from the original picture of his Lordship, painted by Mr.Henry Raeburn, in the possession of, and to be dedicated by permission to, Alexander Maconochie Esq., younger of  Meadowbank. 

Size of the Print to be 20 x 14 inches; price to Subscribers, Proofs, £3.3s; Prints, £1..11s.6d.
As numerous applications have already been made for a copy of the above print, it is requested that the Friends of the late Lord President Blair, who do not wish to be disappointed, will, without delay, order their names to be added to the Subcription List, as it will soon be closed.
Subscriptions will be received by John Marnock, carver and gilder, Prince's Street, and Peter Garoff, printseller, Hanover Street.

The Bank Notes Bill was returned with Amendments from the Commons, by Mr.Wharton and other members. The Amendments were, on the motion of the Earl of Liverpool, read and ordered to be taken into consideration on Monday. The Lords to be summoned. - - -

Mr.Heath attended as Counsel in a Writ of Error; judgment in which was affirmed with £130 costs, and Mr.Bailey in another Writ of Error, judgment in which was affirmed with £129 costs.
